Who we are
Stellar Core is a mobile app by Stellar Tech Connections (Private) Limited ("we", "us"), Office # 4, 4th Floor, Plot No. 21-C-5, Al Murtaza Commercial Lane 1, Phase VIII, Karachi 74200, Sindh, Pakistan.
Stellar Core is the mobile companion to the Stellar Core HRMS & Payroll platform. It is used by employees of organisations ("your employer") that use Stellar Core HRMS. Your employer decides what information is held about you and how it is used. We provide and operate the platform on your employer's behalf.
This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and how it is protected.
Who can use the app
You can only sign in with an account created by your employer's HR administrator. The app has no public sign-up. It is intended for working adults and is not directed at children.
Information the app collects
Account and sign-in information
- Client PIN, user code and password, used to sign you in. Your password is sent securely to our server to verify it. It is not stored on your phone.
- To keep you signed in, the app stores a secure session token on your phone. It can also remember your client PIN and user code so you do not have to retype them. Both are kept in your phone's encrypted storage.
Employee profile information
Your name, employee code, designation, department, email address, phone number and profile photo, as provided by your employer. The app displays this information; it does not upload photos from your phone.
Location information
- When you tap Check In or Check Out, the app reads your phone's current precise location (GPS) one time.
- It sends this location to our server to check whether you are within your workplace boundary set by your employer, and records it with your attendance entry.
- The app only reads your location when you check in or out while the app is open. It does not track your location in the background or at any other time.
- The app may detect if a fake-GPS app is being used, to prevent incorrect attendance.
- You can refuse location permission, but you will not be able to mark attendance from the app.
Attendance and work records
- Check-in and check-out times, attendance history, time card summaries, attendance correction requests, and leave requests and balances.
- Remarks you write when submitting or approving requests.
Payroll information
Payslips (salary, allowances, deductions and net pay) and income tax details, as processed by your employer. The app shows these to you only. If you download a payslip, it is saved as a PDF on your phone.
Manager and team information
If you are a manager, the app shows your team members' names, attendance and requests so you can approve or reject them.
How we use this information
We use it only to provide the app's features for you and your employer:
- signing you in and keeping your account secure
- recording attendance and verifying you are at your workplace when you check in or out
- handling leave and attendance correction requests and approvals
- showing your payslips, income tax details, holidays and company announcements
We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell it.
Who can see your information
- Your employer: HR administrators and your managers, as configured by your employer in Stellar Core HRMS.
- Stellar Tech Connections: our authorised staff, only to operate, support and secure the service.
- Service providers: our hosting provider, GoDaddy, stores the data on our behalf.
- Authorities: if required by law, for example a valid request from a court or regulator.
No ads, analytics or tracking
The app does not show ads and does not contain third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
How we protect your information
- All data between the app and our server is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
- Session details on your phone are kept in the phone's encrypted secure storage.
- Access to records is limited by role, so employees, managers and HR see only what they are allowed to see.
How long we keep information
Your records are kept for as long as your employer uses Stellar Core HRMS and as required by your employer's policies and applicable employment, tax and labour laws. Signing out of the app removes the session from your phone.
Your choices and rights
- Location: you can turn off location permission at any time in your phone's settings. Attendance marking will then not work in the app.
- Access, correction or deletion: because your employer controls your HR records, please contact your HR department first. You can also contact us at the address below and we will work with your employer on your request.
- Uninstalling the app removes the data stored on your phone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. We will notify users in the app of significant changes.
